Kiss it, kiss it better, baby Kiss it, kiss it better, baby
Been waiting on that sunshine Boy, I think I need that back Can't do it like that No one else gonna get it like that So I argue, you yell, had to take me back Who cares when it feels like crack? Boy you know that you always do it right Man, fuck your pride, just take it on back, boy Take it on back boy, take it back all night Just take it on back, take it on back Mmm, do what you gotta do, keep me up all night Hurting bad man, and it hurts inside when I look you in your eye
What are you willing to do? Oh, tell me what you're willing to do? Kiss it, kiss it better, baby What are you willing to do? Oh, tell me what you're willing to do? Kiss it, kiss it better, baby

Wotts – little bug
Our favorite Canadian indie pop duo is back with another marvelous composition that will immediately wrap around your ears and refuse to let go long after the last notes and beats end. Wotts have always been a band that breaks conventions of indie pop music, and that’s the case with this song as well. By stacking not only the fundamental elements of indie pop music but an entire palette of different yet complementary genres into “little bug,” they crafted a calm, catchy, enchanting song that goes far beyond any expectations. Of course, the duo relies on those indie pop maneuvers the most, but you’ll unquestionably notice how some of the finest properties borrowed from dream pop, shoegaze, psych pop, synth rock, and indie rock elevate and decorate the entire track. Some of these additions are so subtle, while the others are almost dominant as the primary sonic direction, and altogether they define a luxuriant, ethereal, otherworldly ambiance. Also, let’s not forget that Wotts love experimenting with various approaches, techniques, directions, and styles, so “little bug” exemplifies their dedication to breaking rules and shapeshifting boundaries of so many genres at the same time. This song is not only a perfect addition to their already impressive discography, but a rock-solid proof that indie pop, when done right, can sound as innovative as it was decades ago.
Photo by Rainbow StudiosWhat makes this track so good is that calm, soothing, relaxing, ethereal atmosphere that immediately penetrates your listening apparatus and transports you into a completely different universe. Wotts are the masters in crafting emotionally resonant songs, but it seems that with “little bug,” they achieved something completely unique. Those tender, mellow, beautiful vocal harmonies play a significant role in achieving that emotionally resonant sound, as they act as a centerpiece of this song, elevating each sonic and rhythmic maneuver on an entirely new level, commanding attention, and guiding listeners on an epic sonic journey through the expansive sonic universe. These soft harmonies, almost whispery at times, expertly balance low, mid, and high notes delivered through various instrumentations, emphasizing everything Wotts intended to achieve with this track. Besides decorating all those segments and orchestrations, these vocal maneuvers also contribute more than necessary emotional depth and complexity to an already intricate structure. You will also hear a subtle touch of studio reverb giving more depth, depth, and echo to vocals. In the meantime, the interplay between synths and guitars creates a perfect backdrop for all the vocals to shine upon. The synths deliver all those lush ambient pads, harmonies, and melodies, while the guitars contribute more complexity through jangly, angular chord progressions. The duo also applied generous ammounts of reverb and delay over those instrumentations, a very important effects that, in this case, twist, bend, and swirl all those beautiful notes.
Beneath all those lush synths and guitars, you’ll stumble upon a bass guitar, another very important instrument that brings more clarity, depth, and heftiness to this song without overwhelming other orchestrations. You’ll notice how all those low, deep, dense, warm, vividly hearable lines help out synths and guitars to shine even brighter in the mix, while simultaneously offering warmth, groove, and detail. Besides all of that, the bass guitar also binds all those orchestrations and rhythmic patterns together. And of course, this composition wouldn’t sound complete without equally impressive beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics. The drums keep everything in line while dictating groove and pace with such precision and finesse, offering even more groove, detail, and complexity to the song. Each hit of the snare, kick of the bass drums, accentuation on the hi-hat, and splash over the cymbals is vividly hearable in the mix, making this song such a pleasant listening experience. “little bug” is an absolute indie pop masterpiece, crafted by two incredible songwriters, producers, and musicians. Wotts constantly deliver magnificent, impressive, fascinating, beautiful music, but “little bug” must be their finest piece of work so far. It vividly demonstrates their songwriting, composing, arranging, and producing abilities, brilliant ideas, and musicianship, but also their tremendous dedication to the craft. If you’re looking for an ethereal, otherworldly indie pop music fully stacked with beautiful vocal harmonies, lush instrumentations, and moderate beats, then “little bug” will be right up your alley. Do not miss this gem!

"(I Just) Died in Your Arms" is the debut single by the English rock band #CuttingCrew, from their debut album, #Broadcast (1986). The song was written by lead vocalist #NickVanEede, inspired by a phrase he uttered while having sex with his ex-girlfriend. "(I Just) Died in Your Arms" is a #powerBallad that incorporates elements of #synthrock, #newWave and #progressiveRock. The lyrics employ the concept of #laPetiteMort as a metaphor for sexual transcendence.

For #MusicWomenWednesday this week, Cosey Mueller from Berlin. Hooky, synthy darkwave- kinda like Ladytron minus Marnie, but with more Numan and Kraftwerk. Some rad guitar here and there, almost surfy or Dead Kennedys a little. The synths even have an almost nin flair at times. Been playing a bunch of her most recent albums-

The Lunar Keys – Pure As Your Protocol
The Lunar Keys are back with another fine piece of sonic artistry that will immediately appeal to anyone who appreciates clever songwriting and flawless performance. “Pure As Your Protocol” is their fifth standalone single in 2025, arriving after “Dreams Are Never Spoken,” “Bleed,” “88 Train,” and “Life Is A Dirty War,” four incredible compositions released earlier this year that you undoubtedly need to check out as soon as possible. It’s also their first collaboration with Grammy award-winning producer Brendan Dekora, known for his work with Nine Inch Nails, Foo Fighters, Muse, and many more. Lyrically, “Pure As Your Protocol” explores the collision between humans and the machine in us, the tension between control and chaos, heart and code. It’s a deeply emotional piece that poses numerous questions, so it’s a highly relatable composition that will resonate with a broader audience. Sonically, The Lunar Keys once again merge complementary music genres with various techniques, approaches, and directions, yet everything feels so well-organised, harmonious, and beautiful. It’s one of those songs that vividly showcases four incredible musicians doing what they love the most: writing, composing, arranging, recording, and performing soulful, emotional, meaningful songs. “Pure As Your Protocol” exemplifies their tremendous dedication to the craft in so many ways, proving that indie music, when done right, can still sound fresh, unique, innovative, and exciting. Perhaps indie is the most dominant genre here, as all the fundamental elements of indie rock and indie pop are hearable during each segment, but they’re certainly not the only ones. Quite the contrary, you’ll notice some of the finest properties borrowed from alternative, synth rock, and synth pop, acting as more than necessary more as enhancements rather than leading styles. Everything is so perfectly incorporated into the song’s core, proving that The Lunar Keys poured heart and soul while writing and composing this incredible track.
Photo courtesy of the band.As soon as you press play, you’ll notice that these experienced musicians are not joking around with their music. “Pure As Your Protocol” is packed with some of the finest moments in indie rock music history. Each segment carries more than enough catchy, memorable, engaging instrumentations and sharp lyrics that you’ll gladly spin this indie gem all over again. It’s nearly mindblowing how each section, from marvelous verses to anthemic choruses, includes all those beautiful vocal lines, beautiful guitar works, lush synths, intricate basslines, and excellent drumming. The Lunar Keys made sure that the listener remains engaged from start to finish, and they ultimately succeeded in their intentions. The lead vocals act as a centerpiece here, guiding listeners from scratch to finish, commanding attention, and elevating everything to new heights. These vocal harmonies decorate all the segments and orchestrations, emphasizing everything The Lunar Keys intended to achieve with their song. You’ll also notice how the additional vocal layers, back vocals, and sing-alongs give “Pure As Your Protocol” more anthemic vibes. These vocal arrangements are so carefully considered, making this track such a marvelous piece worth revisiting all over again. Of course, there are also interplays between guitars and additional synth works that shape a perfect backdrop for all the vocals to shine upon. You’ll notice all those tastefully assembled chord progressions and riffs resonating on one side while the catchy, memorable, engaging themes, melodies, and harmonies shine on the other. The synths contribute ambient pads and chord progressions throughout the entire composition, making “Pure As Your Protocol” more complex and luxuriant. Beneath all these marvelous orchestrations, you’ll notice all those vividly hearable, warm-sounding, intricate basslines, rumbling around and offering more heaviness, clarity, and depth to this track. These rich, deep, dense, heavy low-ends not only there to contribute groove and detail, but also act as a binding element between guitars, synths, and drums. Of course, the incredible drumming performance keeps everything in line while dictating groove and pace with all those tastefully assembled, flawlessly performed, well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics.
The Lunar Keys never cease to amaze, and with “Pure As Your Protocol,” they demonstrated how indie rock, when done right, can still sound innovative, like when you heard it for the first time. It’s a deeply meaningful, emotive, powerful composition that tackles all the senses while spreading the important message about the digital era we’re living in. With all those beautiful vocal harmonies, lush guitar and synth works, intricate basslines, and superb drumming, “Pure As Your Protocol” will immediately become a staple on your playlist. Do not miss this gem. It’s available on all streaming platforms.

Valvet – Mirrors & Ecstacy EP
“Mirrors & Ecstacy” is the latest release by Valvet, a superb Swedish band based in Lund. Heavily promoted by “Mountains,” a standalone single that vividly showcases what you might expect from this material, this extended play is their first piece of work in 2025, arriving after “Valvbum1,” a critically acclaimed debut full-length that you should also check out as soon as possible. Lyrically, the release reveals the band’s deepest emotions, moods, situations, and circumstances by exploring themes of conflict, lingering fear, and helplessness. Therefore, it’s a highly relatable material that will immediately resonate with the broader audience. Sonically, Valvet combines various styles, approaches, techniques, and directions in order to deliver a lush sonic ambiance that immediately wraps around your listening apparatus and refuses to let go long after the last notes and beats end. You’ll immediately notice indie rock, as the fundamental elements of this genre dominate in the mix the most, but do not be surprised if you stumble upon some of the finest properties borrowed from alternative rock, alternative pop, indie pop, and dream pop. They tastefully and wisely stacked all these additional sonic ingredients, using them as more than necessary enhancements, without spoiling the initial sonic direction. These experimentations with various music genres, approaches, techniques, and directions resulted in four catchy, memorable, hypnotic, addictive, and irresistible compositions that will not only appeal to indie rock fans but also to anyone who appreciates cleverly written, expertly composed, and flawlessly performed music.
Photo by Irma KasimirThis epic sonic journey commences with “Mountains,” a beautiful introductory piece that immediately channels some of the finest indie folk, folk rock, and acoustic rock moments you’ll hear in a while. Still, the band gradually introduces more indie rock instrumentations, making this track even more luxuriant, detailed, and profoundy. You’ll notice how all those chord progressions delivered on acoustic guitars support marvelous vocal harmonies until the remainder of the band joins in and creates such an otherworldly listening experience worth repeating over and over again. The entire band shines in the limelight, offering some of the best orchestrations you’ll hear in a while. Valvet’s writing, composing, arranging, and producing brilliance continues with “Half Measure,” a song that carries all the qualities of the previous track, but expanding into more complex, luxuriant, progressive indie rock waters. You’ll notice how all those guitar interplays shape a perfect backdrop for all the vocals to shine upon while the vividly hearable, warm-sounding basslines contribute more than necessary groove, power, warmth, and clarity. The soulful, passionate, confident, and emotive vocal performance elevates everything to new heights, commands attention, and leads listeners on an epic journey through the expansive sonic universe. The impressive vocal range seamlessly balances low, mid, and high notes with such precision and finesse, emphasizing everything the remainder of the band intended to achieve with this song. If previous compositions weren’t more than enough to convince you about Valvet’s craftsmanship, wait until you hear “Giving It Up.” It’s a profoundly energetic composition where expertly arranged, flawlessly performed, well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics shine in the limelight by keeping the remainder of the orchestrations in line while dictating groove and pace. The drumming was perfect on the first two songs as well, but this composition also showcases the drummer’s tremendous range, diversity of rhythmic patterns, and other drumming delicacies that true music enthusiasts will appreciate. These are also the moments where the band introduces catchy, memorable, engaging synth leads, themes, melodies, and harmonies, which, paired with lush guitar works, create ethereal and otherworldly ambiance. This marvelous EP comes to an end with “Falling,” another standout track from this material that showcases almost math-rock guitar themes, powerful rhythmic shifts, and more vocal maneuvers that offer more emotion and soul. It’s a perfect closure of an extended that certainly deserves to be spun over and over again.
“Mirrors & Ecstacy” not only showcases four incredible musicians doing what they love the most but also their fascinating skills, talent, creativity, knowledge, and experience, distilled into brilliant ideas and musicianship. Each composition carries its own ambiance, like it’s destined to be more of a standalone single, but together, these four songs represents perfect pieces of a greater sonic puzzle, willing to showcase Valvet’s impressive capabilities. “Mirrors & Ecstacy” demonstrates that indie rock can still sound fresh, unique, innovative, and exciting when written, composed, recorded, and produced by four outstanding musicians who write music straight from the heart. Therefore, head to your favorite streaming platforms and check this incredible EP.

Purple Stone – Spacetime
It has been a while since we had a chance to write about a duo that sounds this good, and when they’re exploring music genres we love from the bottom of our hearts, every listening session becomes such a treat. As you probably already know, the psychedelic rock scene has thrived over the last couple of years, with many new bands and acts delivering high-quality music. It seems like many of them are overly experimenting, exploiting their influences to the max, or mimicking something that the greats recorded and performed decades ago. Thankfully, there are still music outlets capable of writing, composing, and recording unique tracks, rarely heard or seen today. Purple Stone, a duo hailing from northern Sweden, brought “Spacetime,” their second full-length offering that carries a comprehensive collection of fresh, unique, innovative, and exciting compositions that will unquestionably appeal to all those music enthusiasts who are looking for cleverly assembled and flawlessly performed music. Lyrically and conceptually, this material is self-explanatory. It explores space and time, and their power to shape the universe and everything that surrounds us. Through their music, they cover various sentiments, moods, situations, and circumstances, making this material such a deeply resonant listening experience. Sonically, “Spacetime” dominatly explores psychedelic rock sound, as it carries the fundamental elements of this style, but it also goes beyond mere aesthetics of the genre by incorporating other complementary music genres, directions, techniques, and approaches. During these moments, their dedication to the craft truly shines because their compositions are packed with so many details, nuances, layers, elements, and hidden sonic surprises, ready to be revealed with each new listen. You’ll notice how they implemented some of the finest properties from krautrock, synth rock, art rock, alternative, stoner, indie, cinematic ambient, but do not be surprised if you stumble upon more along the way. Although their songs carry qualities that meet all the trends in modern music production, you’ll also notice a subtle touch of nostalgia, evoking eras of psychedelic rock music when this particular music genre ruled the airwaves. Still, these touches of nostalgia are subtle enough not the spoil their initial sonic direction. It’s such a pleasant listening experience packed with so many qualities, suitable for even those listeners stumbling upon psych-rock music for the first time.
As soon as you press play, you’ll hear that Purple Stone dedicated themselves to crafting luxuriant soundscapes that immediately invite you to join onto epic sonic voyage and never look back. It’s an amalgam of songs that wraps around your listening apparatus, grabs by the collar, and never lets go, proving that even contemporary psych-rock music can still sound addictive, hypnotic, and irresistible. Take “Come On Come On Come On” as a perfect example. Perhaps this introductory piece showcases what you might expect from the remainder of the material, but it also demonstrates Purple Stone’s tremendous creative genius. With all those subtly fuzzy guitar works, lush synth layers, intricate warm-sounding basslines, and profoundly detailed beats, it packs all the qualities you wanna hear in a modern psych-rock. But wait until you hear those soulful vocal harmonies; they’re undoubtedly stealing the show here. We already talked about “I’m The One” in our previous writings. It further expands Purple Stone sounds with even more thoughtfully arranged instrumentations, yet it certainly carries its own, distinctive ambiance worth checking out over and over again. Blending seventies synth sequences with commanding basslines is one of the Purple Stone’s strengths, and “Alright” proves how a rock-solid rhythm section and a couple of beautiful synth layers can do wonders. But the band has not forgotten the guitars. Quite the contrary, in this particular scenario, guitars accentuate carefully picked segments with catchy leads, themes, and other sonic maneuvers. Once again, the vocal harmonies decorate and elevate everything while the harmonious sing-alongs provide a more anthemic, hypnotic, meditative feel. “Get High” calms things down with its moderate pace, cinematic ambient pads, marvelous reverby guitar works, and soulful vocal lines. This particular composition carries almost bluesy, soulful, psych-rock vibes, and the band crafted a masterpiece that further showcases their dedication to the craft. “Moods” continues in nearly the same style, but it’s more focused on repetitive sonic and percussive sequences that create hypnotic, ethereal, otherworldly vibes. With tracks like “Adrift” and “Unidentified Flying Space Machine,” Purple Stone gets back to the primary sonic direction, delivering more vocal harmonies that serve as a centerpiece, jangly yet subtly distorted chord progressions, riffs, and other sonic delicacies. Beneath these vocals and guitars, there is a low-end undercurrent offering more heaviness, clarity, and depth while binding everything together. The beats remain steady, groovy, and dynamic, with all those detailed accentuations and subtle fills announcing each upcoming segment. The duo expertly crafts multilayered soundscapes, and “Late Night” is more than a rock-solid proof of how all those layers articulate together without overwhelming each other. In this track, the guitars play a significant role by emitting all those calm, soothing, relaxing, ethereal themes, melodies, harmonies, chord progressions, and other sonic maneuvers. This epic sonic journey comes to an end with a title track, a fine piece of sonic artistry that pretty much sums up everything Purple Stone intended to achieve with this material while simultaneously inviting you to spin this wonderful album all over again.

Cupid Spell – Look Alike
The music scene has been thriving in the last couple of decades, with many music outlets releasing excellent tracks, extended plays, and albums. Still, many of them fail in delivering music that resonates with listeners on a profound level. Thankfully, there are music projects like Cupid Spell, which managed to do so with their debut single, something artists and bands in this genre rarely achieve. It comes as no surprise, considering that Josh Kreuzman of Twice Dark is involved. Anyone who had a chance to listen to Twice Dark’s releases knows that Kreuzman is a top-tier artist who continuously delivers fresh, unique, innovative, exciting tracks to the table. With the immense support of Mandy Buffington, Kreuzman examines love, relationships, various sentiments, moods, situations, and circumstances, crafting highly relatable compositions that will instantly resonate with even the pickiest music enthusiasts. Besides these themes, their debut single “Look Alike” pays homage to David Lynch’s television and film work, and it has been purposefully crafted for the 10th issue of the Lovers Eyes Press. Sonically, Cupid Spell dives deep into dream pop aesthetics, since it’s a dominant genre throughout the entire composition, but there’s more than meets the eye. You’ll stumble upon all those fundamental elements of synth-pop, synthwave, darkwave, new wave, art rock, art pop, and many more. Josh Kreuzman and Mandy Buffington blended all these sonic ingredients with such precision and finesse. While the qualities that meet all the trends in modern music production lurk dominantly around, they also implemented a vividly recognizable touch of nostalgia that immediately transports the listener to the eighties, an era when this style ruled the airwaves. It’s such a powerful, meaningful, soulful exploration that will not only appeal to dream pop and synth fans, but anyone who appreciates wisely assembled and flawlessly performed music.
Cupid Spell expertly threads layers in lush soundscapes that shine with sincere emotion. You’ll notice a mindblowing collision between brilliant ideas, marvelous musicianship, and tremendous dedication to the craft, rarely seen on a music scene nowadays. Josh Kreuzman’s vocal performance acts as the centerpiece of “Look Alike,” commanding attention, elevating everything to new heights, and leading listeners on an epic sonic journey through the expansive sonic universe. If you pay close attention, you’ll notice how Mandy Buffington’s voice perfectly pairs with Kreuzman’s performance. Together, they seamlessly balance low, mid, and high notes presented through catchy sonic and rhythmic maneuvers, emphasizing everything Cupid Spell intended to achieve with this debut. During the memorable choruses, you’ll hear how Kreuzman still leads the way, while Buffington’s calm, soothing, relaxing, and ethereal vocal harmonies accentuate and immensely help this track to shine even more. Their vocals perfectly match, crafting an emotional depth that unquestionably adds complexity to an already intricate composition. In the meantime, the interplay between synths and guitars shapes a perfect backdrop for all the vocal harmonies to shine upon. It’s the formula that works to the advantage of the song’s ambiance, with all those dominant or subtle layers building a luxuriant soundscape. While the guitar mostly provides hypnotic, addictive, irresistible leads and themes, the synths provide pads, harmonies, and melodies, continuously working from scratch to finish. These orchestrations expand and become even more complex as the song progresses. Cupid Spell thought about everything while stacking these instruments, and it’s nearly mindblowing how all these layers articulate without overwhelming each other.
Even the bass guitar plays several roles in this sonic equation, with all those vividly hearable, intricate, warm-sounding, or tastefully distorted low-ends offering tremendous support, heaviness, clearness, warmness, and depth to synths and guitars while acting as a binding element between the mentioned instrumentations and rhythmic patterns. These warm, deep, and dense basslines definitely contribute heaviness, groove, and detail to every segment while fulfilling the gaps between various orchestrations. Of course, there are perfectly programmed synth rhythmic patterns, carrying robust, punchy beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics. These rhythmic patterns not only keep everything in line, but also offer immense groove and depth to the song, serving as the powerful counterbalance that perfectly pairs all the tenderness, harmony, and melody. As you can see, Cupid Spell poured heart and soul into their debut single. Josh Kreuzman and Mandy Buffington crafted a masterpiece that immediately transports you into a different realm. There’s passion and love for crafting marvelous music involved here, and these two skillful musicians vividly showcase those qualities. “Look Alike” is one of those songs that immediately wraps around your ears and refuses to let go long after the last notes and beats end. It’s a beautiful piece of sonic art where innovation and tradition merge, love and Lynchian thematics collide, melody and power perfectly thread, and shape a colossal sonic display worth repeating over and over again. A song you surely do not want to miss. Head to your favorite streaming platform and check it out.

2/ All this, not just sprinkled, but seeped in great synthesizer work, enriching the sound in all the right ways and sometimes even taking the lead in songs such as Auto-Skull or Physical Witching. Pretty sure that if you play this record to the plants in your grow cabinet or wherever you place your shroom box, will increase the crops potency to the effect making you capable of seeing the color out of space.
