Olive View Hospital, Sylmar, California. March 1972. Scanned from a 35mm Kodachrome slide.
This building was completed in December 1970 and damaged two months later in the 1971 San Fernando earthquake. The end of each wing was a structurally-separate stair tower. Three of four stair towers collapsed in the quake. Much of the above-ground portion of the basement level also collapsed.
