Significant news in the electric bike conversion kit space as one of the leading labels, Swytch, is again seeking major investment from its existing shareholders, this time to get back on track after adverse effects from the U.S. applying tariffs, among other headwinds.

Swytch, which raised just shy of £1 million a year ago on Crowdcube, is now facing a consumer backlash on Trustpilot as order schedules have been repeatedly pushed back.

First impressions are off to a strong start with the #Swytch Go kit I recently received. After being delayed for so long, I was starting to worry I wouldn't be able to use it before the season was over.

This thing is fast and quiet! And the motor hub is dragless, so it spins freely when not in use. We'll see how the range is, but for the first few rides, I feel like I'm flying!

I paid $480 as a pre-order, but even the $800 retail price is better than the $1000+ GeoOrbital that stranded me with a dead battery and locked wheel.

Das #Swytch Go eBike Upgradekit ist heute gekommen und natürlich musste ich es direkt verbauen. War sehr einfach und die erste Testfahrt war erfolgreich. Fährt vernünftig, zieht ordentlich und bislang nervt es nicht. Morgen werden dann die Kabel korrekt verlegt:)

If there was one thing I would complain about with the #brompton #swytch kit is that my 2023 C-Line Explore didn’t have the correct spacers for the PAS sensor, @kevin knocked up this sensor mount with their #3dprinter!

I also have a nice 3d printed mod that @kevin made for me for my #brompton x #swytch #bike. Issue is I can’t find my massive pack of cable ties.. only had it the other day as well!

First experience on an e-bike: what a ride!

I just upgraded my bike with a kit from Swytch

Some first reactions:
- The acceleration is exhilarating, and the top speed is just right
- I'm still pedalling, so I'm moving, but I didn't sweat for my 12-minute ride to and from the coffee shop I went to. I didn't get there winded or yucky
- It feels like clean fun, like I've got something people in gas cars can't boast to get out of the same trip, at a bargain
