Hey Mastonauts, what do you think this is? It's on the hydro pole across the road from our house and appeared in the last week. It must have been put there when we were away one day. We're in the middle of rural #SWONTARIO and it can't "see" the nearby intersection, so we don't think* it's traffic cam related.

Apparently this is a female argiope - also known as a banana spider. It makes a thick zigzag mark on the centre of its web so that birds and people can see it and not get caught in the web, ruining all her hard work. #gardening #insects #Ontario #SWOntario #AltText #tomatoes #GrowYourOwn vegetables
