I don't do many preorders of anything, but I love the hell out of shooting games of all kinds- sometimes I gotta jump. Dezatopia came out in 2020 and I've had it on both my Switch and Steam wishlists digitally since then, it's supposed to be great. It's actually the very FIRST thing on my Switch wishlist from all those years ago! So when I heard it was coming out physical with Mecharitz, it was a no brainer. Sure, it took a long time to get here (I preordered in July and just got it now in December). But to me, the wait was worth it. In addition to the cartridge with both games and a manual, it came with another separate book, a CD of the soundtrack, and a poster.
So psyched to try both of these.

Final Zone「(FZ戦記アクシス」is a great looking retro inspired isometric shooter from Ratalaika (can't really go wrong with most of their games) that just came out on Steam (and it's on consoles, too, including Switch). It's fairly inexpensive, too (less than $5 right now), and on sale for a few more days.

Horizontal arcade style shootemup Cycle Chaser H-5 is coming to Switch January 24 (it's been on Steam since 2023). This is another great looking one from Ratalaika Games. It has hand-drawn and vector-rendered 2D graphics, an FM soundtrack produced in YM2612, three weapon styles with three attack types each, and Free Run mode which makes the game accessible for all experience levels (I love stuff like that).

Jenny LeClue is currently $2 on Switch. I'm enjoying it greatly. If you don't know what it is, the game is about a fictional girl detective whose author is in danger of losing his publishing contract if this new book isn't AMAZING. That's actually affecting the choices I make, although that could just be because I'm a writer. Even without that layer, the author is pretty entertaining. Also, the art is absolutely lovely.
