There are tiny little rules that every designer should stick to and nobody will get hurt. Like the rule that says "If it's a button, make it look like a button".
In this example from ticket giving touch screen terminal at #SwissPost one can see three options.
This #UX always flips me over, because for my brain the button on the top does not look like a button. It does not have the border as the other two buttons. It's visually different size than the other two. So my brain does not register it as "clickable something".
As a bonus thing we can notice that the buttons have only printed on them the logos of said companies. So if you're not familiar with the logos, you will have no clue what you're looking at. Take the Swiss Post logo as an example. It looks like "+P". How am I supposed to know what that means?

It turns out that Swisspost¹ uses Akamai to "protect" its login system called SwissID² and they redirect to

and this login.swissid.ch lives behind Akamai.
It so happens that the IP I use to connect is also a Tor _relay_ (not an exit node) and Akamai offers the possibility of blocking "all of Tor" (i.e. exits _and_ relays) as "bad people". Of course if you know anything about Tor you also know that relays are not exits and no traffic ever leaves a relay to "the Internet" but, "sekurity theatre" being what it is, they block it anyway.
Several years ago (2013 or so?) Apple used Akamai (they still do) and support.apple.com blocked Tor relays too but, on the :birdsite:, I contacted Akamai's CSO out of desperation (aka "csoandy") who very kindly looked into it and fixed it! :flan_awe: (I assume by educating Apple, or so I hope).
Well, unfortunately Andy has left Akamai and now I cannot have someone "give the talk" to the Swiss Post.
Oh, if you happen to use SwissSign PKI solutions you have the same demented problem.

Was ich zb. auch nicht verstehe: Bei der SwissID wird meine Postadresse online von der *CH-Post* verifiziert. Binnen Sekunden ✅. In meinem – mit der SwissID verknüpften – *CH-Post*-Benutzerkonto (ja, die gleiche *CH-Post*) muss ich meine Adresse erst per Code via Briefpost verifizieren, bevor ich etwas machen kann… 🤷🏻♀️ #SwissID #swisspost
