107 Milliarden Dollar – so viel haben Naturkatastrophen im vergangenen Jahr die globalen #Versicherer gekostet. Das schätzt das #SwissRe Institute. Somit haben die versicherten Schäden aus Naturkatastrophen in diesem Jahr zum sechsten Mal in Folge die Marke von 100 Milliarden Dollar überstiegen. Sie liegen allerdings 24 Prozent unter dem Wert des Vorjahres.

“Up to half a million people globally succumb to the effects of extreme heat each year, according to recent scientific research,” the report noted, “exceeding the combined impact of floods, earthquakes and hurricanes.
