It definitely feels a lot weird to say I enjoyed Launder and Swirlies on election night. I mean, I did, but everyone was checking the results and that definitely put a pall over things. It was a good show and everyone seemed committed to carrying on. I have to remind myself regularly that it's ok to still enjoy things but to also actively resist being caught by the skeletal hand of apathy.

it's a swirlies kinda morning. as someone said on rym, "classic american indie rawk." swirles were from boston & combined a my bloody valentine influence with elements of american lo-fi, &, i would argue, even post-hardcore. they actually started as a gos-gos cover band, which is pretty funny. i used to have a cassette of this that a friend gave me, but i no longer have that cassette or that friend. circa 1991-92 https://youtu.be/f95GoEYkkOE #shoegaze #indierock #indiemusic #swirlies #lofi #noisepop
