Part of my thread that's coming later this week will also discuss how being treated like shit/being disbelieved here (after getting swatted by a pathological liar who owns a huge Canadian instance, with a lot of ignorant supporters who seem unaware or don't care that their guy swatted me) - severely triggered my PTSD on being disbelieved when I tried reporting being SAed as a teen. I was bullied & ostracized for trying to report SA. People believed the rapist & not me. It brought up the same angry, disappointed & people are fucked feelings.
I had almost left Mastodon completely, due to that.The Epstein Files triggered both of those hella horrible life memories, again. I'd never been swatted before Chad Ohman chose to send that racial violence to my home, shortly after my Dad died. That night was full of unnecessary police traumas too. I'm sick of people pretending to care & I find out they don't, when shit hits the fan.
I don't need fake support. I don't need cowardly folks. That shit ends up hurting me in the long run. I don't need any fucking devil's advocates either. Go hang out with Satan.

CBS News received exclusive access to the dataset, dubbed the 'Security Map,' ahead of its public release. It compiles more than a decade of cases from court filings, news reports and academic databases.

There seems to be more going on behind a series of posts/stories about a #Canadian #TransHotline . There looks to be enough #disinformation and inaccuracies that may be giving the right a type of #Swatting 'twofer'. It targets both #Canadians and #LGBTQ+
The #hotline numbers may indeed connect to a #trans resource, but it appears to have been 'volunteered' and isn't part of some master plan to help, nor has the original US hotline actually been turned off.

Swatting is a crime that involves making a bogus emergency call claiming a horrific emergency is taking place – often a shooting – to draw police and first responders to a person’s home.
FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on X last week that the FBI is “already taking action to investigate and hold those responsible accountable.”
“This isn’t about politics—weaponizing law enforcement against ANY American is not only morally reprehensible but also endangers lives, including those of our officers,” he wrote. “That will not be tolerated.”

This is a #travestyOfJustice. This #British guy made a fake call to a US #terrorism hotline with the intention of "#swatting" a fellow #gamer in America. The #SWATteam actually showed up and shot the intended target in the face resulting in permenant disfigurement. The #UK court sentenced him to 2mo in jail, and £1000 in compensation to the victim. That's nothing. That's not even a slap on the wrist for the lifelong damages he caused.

Swatting has become a prolific tool of political #intimidation in recent years as people respond to inflammatory rhetoric.
Newly reviewed records show that presidential hopeful Nikki #Haley was the target of a swatting incident in late December when an anonymous person called 911 claiming to have killed his girlfriend at Haley’s South Carolina home.
Authorities responded to a call on 30 December from a person who said he had shot his girlfriend and was threatening to harm himself, giving Haley’s address to the operator. It was shortly deemed a fake emergency, Reuters reported. Haley and her son were not at home during the time of the call; her husband was overseas.
The report comes after a surge in swatting – when anonymous people use the addresses of public figures when calling 911 to report fake violent incidents, like shootings – against public officials in recent months.
Earlier this month, special counsel Jack #Smith and DC district court judge Tanya #Chutkan, both key figures in the federal case against Donald Trump for attempts to overturn the election, were targets of swatting.
Shenna #Bellows, Maine’s secretary of state who barred Trump from the state’s Republican primary ballot, was also singled out in an incident last year.
Gabriel #Sterling, a top official in the Georgia secretary of state’s office, said that 14 police cars, a firetruck and an ambulance appeared at his home when someone called 911 about a hoax shooting.
“Now I bolt my doors every night,” he told Reuters. “That’s the reality I’m living in.”
Jen #Easterly, the head of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the federal agency that is tasked with bolstering election security, was also a target of a hoax December 30, NBC News reported earlier this week.
“One of the most troubling trends we have seen in recent years has been the harassment of public officials across the political spectrum, including extreme incidents involving swatting and direct personal threats,” Easterly told NBC News. “These incidents pose a serious risk to the individuals, their families and, in the case of swatting, to the law enforcement officers responding to the situation. While my own experience was certainly harrowing, it was unfortunately not unique.”
Some officials have also been targets of more direct threats. On the morning of closing arguments in Trump’s New York fraud trial, a bomb squad responded to a threat directed toward the Long Island home of judge Arthur #Engoron, who is overseeing the case.
