It was the only bee from 13:30 - 16:30. Weather is turning warmer so maybe there will be more activity in the coming week.

I put the swarm trap, bait hive, up today. There's commercial migratory bees in the area so that means it's time to catch someone else's bees, or my own. It's about 330 ft from the apiary, or 100 meters, but also close to where I plan on putting a hive to see how it does in slightly hotter temperatures since it will be above the cooler layer close to the water. It has 6 frames of old smelly comb in it this year.

I heard the distinct sound of a swarm of bees after I was close enough that it was louder than the sprayers in the orchards a mile away..
It was just gathering up in the tree as I noticed it. Wasn't much activity around the hives but there were a number of bees circling.

Setup a second hive and the bait hive today. Did not put the bait hive 15 feet up in the tree to the right of it like last year.
It's early but there are hives out in the orchards around. Saw some near some pears that might be blooming and I can see hives along the apples across the river which is most certainly a couple of weeks early.
I have a camera on scout bee surveillance duty. 🧐 🐝
