So I popped on over to #Linux and brought my #SwamHorns samples into #BitwigStudio and their improved #Sampler to see if I could coax a reasonable result.
I am relatively new to using samplers (or at least building my own) and I am pretty freaking chuffed with the results.
I put some note range AND velocity fading in, and aside from a little noise that I am hearing I really like the results.

For comparison, here is the same passage as built entirely with #SWAMHorns and I've used stock #BitwigStudio devices for Compression, Reverb, Chorus and Filtering.
I've been continue to dabble with the #UltraAudio #UltraSynth. This time I am created a more limited set of samples to load (4 velocities per octave) and the results sound decent and would likely work as a "processed" horn sound in #Linux.
I have also learned heaps about expressive dynamics in #AudioModelling #SWAMHorns while making the samples and this is making me want to use the original horn VST more. I do wish it was available for Linux though.
Here's a small passage repeated four times. First is dry with some compression, second adds reverb to this, third adds chorus on top of all of this, and fourth places a lowpass filter over the whole thing. I think it sounds quite interesting. Is it worth spending NZ$300 on? I'm tempted, but for now there are other priorities demanding attention first.

I like to make #ElectronicMusic and specifically #BonkWave - or #NotBonkWave with #FrenchHorns using #AudioModeling #SwamHorns and these are made more expressive with a #HandOperated #Expression device called the #TouchéSE

I was just entering the flow state when the leak happened yesterday. Today I completed the #ElectronicMusic exercise I had started. Driving the Swam Horn #VST in #Bitwig through ExpressiveE's Touche is a dream. There will be more #BonkWave for #SwamHorns and #Benjolin
