  1. Denmark has a high population density. On average, every square kilometer is inhabited by 132 people — a lot more than in Finland (16) or Norway (17).

    As a consequence, the wildlife has had a hard time during the last couple of centuries. But fortunately, throughout recent years a large number of rewilding projects has transformed Denmark. Wild horses, moose and bison have been reintroduced, and the wolves have returned by themselves.
