These are some of the worst-written choices for a survey question I’ve ever seen. It seems like the person who wrote this doesn’t know how to write survey questions but also wanted to be deliberately misleading so they can get the kind of answers they want.

For a a research methods training platform, Sage Research Methods Online doesn't offer great response options for sentiment (how do you feel about...). I guess "I expect it" is more positive than "I like it" but they're not in that order. And is "I can tolerate it" or "I dislike it" a more severe negative response? Clearly ordered categories with minimal ambiguity are a basic aspect of categorical survey design. Which their platform could teach them. Oof.#surveydesign

For the love of whatever you love, please don't ask about #AI in a survey without defining it, unless all you want to know is people's gut feeling. I just read a paper that went as far as to score "correct" answers to "Does app type X use AI?" when even researchers and professionals disagree on what counts as AI. #surveydesign #datascience

I just boarded an #Avanti train to Milton Keynes, sat down, tapped to access onboard Wi-Fi.

To connect to Wi-Fi, I must first deal with a survey about the cleanliness of the onboard toilets. I boarded 30 seconds ago; how likely is it I'll have any relevant information?

I'm going to guess this survey has a #validity problem. (Validity is the ability to measure what you intend to measure.)

Wow, this is a pretty extreme example of what unintended effects survey design choices can have. In the UK Census of 2021, ““British” replaced “English” as the first response option” for a question on national identity, and.. oof.
