  2. Number of #GPs increases in Scotland compared with 2024

    Excluding trainees the statistics released on Tuesday show there are 3657 GPs in the workforce which is a 3.7% increase on September 2024.

    The rise comes after #Scotland’s #Health Secretary Neil Gray announced in October an extra £531 million to recruit staff in GP #surgeries over the next three years.

    Parts of the system that are terrible? How about:

    1. #Waiting to see a #specialist ... for 7 years. Moved to a different health region before I got to the top of the #waitlist.
    2. A third of Canadians do not have, and cannot find, a primary care #physician.
    3. "Necessary" surgeries delayed by years; elective #surgeries not even being booked.
    4. Women finding breast lumps and waiting a year or more just to see a specialist to see if it's #cancer.
