  1. #Transport for #London Freedom of Information release:
#TfL has published its response to an FOI request about the outer boundary of Zone 6 in #Surrey. The requester sought the rationale for setting the Zone 6 boundary at #Surbiton on routes to #Guildford and #Woking, and at #Hampton Court for Thames Ditton and Hampton Court stations, as well as any related meeting minutes or correspondence on extending Zone 6 in Elmbridge. TfL said the zonal system was introduced around 30 years ago, broadly based on six concentric zones across London, with few changes since and only where revenue impacts allowed. TfL confirmed it has no power to extend zones to stations outside its network, stating this would be for the train operator and the Department for Transport. It holds no relevant correspondence and no minutes from a May 2025 meeting with Monica Harding MP. TfL noted fares are mainly based on station-to-station pairings and referred queries to South Western Railway.

  6. Passing through #Surbiton on the train.
No sign of Penelope Keith in a paper hat.

  7. Lib Dem Leader Ed Davey re-elected in Kingston and Surbiton.

His vote share is down, but the Conservative vote nearly cut in half.

  8. My thanks to the anonymous biker who spotted my motorcycle keys n the ignition (I'm such a dumbass) in #Surbiton and handed them to the @TorqueElectric shop who when closing then handed them into Megan's Cafe next door, and left a note.

    I got them back.

    Good people. Thank you.

  9. Must admit that’s a rather good name for an Indian restaurant once you know how it is pronounced… In #Surbiton.

  10. CW: Greenwashing by LibDems (again)

Someone has pointed out this sign directing people to wetlands along the #Kingston riverside

We were wondering if it was directed to Seething Wells in #Surbiton which should be wetlands if the LibDems actually did something instead of letting the owners destroy its #biodiversity

Good at talking green but never acting green the LibDems #Greenwashing

  11. From this to the wreck it is now

LibDems in #Kingston have allowed this to happen under their noses at Seething Wells in #Surbiton #GreenSpaces

    A #biodiversity wasteland now

  12. CW: Tempo Limit

    #TempoLimit #20IsPlenty #speedLimit

Whole scale speed reduction in urban areas saves lives. And reduces injuries to people

In #Surbiton the blanket speed limit of 20 was bought in because Green Party former Cllr Sharron Sumner fought for it. In #Kingston it took three attempts because the LibDems were at war with each other

Elsewhere in the borough the LibDems won’t bring it in

We say look after people first - reduce speed #SpeedKills

  13. Thames Water engineers had to divert an angry pig that was preventing them repairing burst pipes in #Surbiton, causing major disruption to trains and road traffic (this is not a rural area but the middle of suburban #London !)

The pig was placated with a packet of crisps 😁 🐷
