I'm about 3 episodes into Frauds - new show on TVNZ+ starring Jodie Whittaker and Suranne Jones.

Have got to love a women-led heist plot. High end art heist with a related smaller heist/con per episode. Criminal team is nearly all women. Very well done interpersonal drama at the same time. Centering on the MC's friendship but the more people sign on for the heist the more the interpersonal landscape shifts. The leads manage some big emotional scenes with excellent talent while still being some stone cold badass women. The heist side of the plot is fun and dynamic and well interwoven with the rest.

I don't know who heard me when I was raving about Doctor Foster last month, but apparently we're getting a season 3 after 8 (!) years.

No words. Just swooning over Suranne Jones and looking forward to it. Maybe I can convince my wife to watch season 1 and 2 closer to the release of season 3. And the UK is usually pretty fast with production. 😏

When I look back at how I became a fan of Suranne Jones, it's an odd one. It was entirely accidental. In 2019, I wanted to watch The Affair for Ruth Wilson, but Netflix didn't have it, and it suggested Doctor Foster to me instead.

I had actually seen her as Idris in Doctor Who many years before that, and I remember really liking that episode and her character, so it was easy to just go, "Oh, why not?"

Well. I absolutely fell for her in Doctor Foster. 🥵
