    I know someone who worked for a logistics engineering company that's used by multiple auto companies. This is a small US company but with several big international clients that rely on them to ship auto parts all around the world.

    Things like "freestyle SQL" from the FRONT END (almost the name of the function I shit you not) and arbitrarily downloading files from the servers are possible. There are several versions of Tomcat in use to host this thing, multiple broken and incongruous versions of the software with no sane version control (everything is done in production) and security updates are never, ever done. Internally they responded to the issues being raised by intimidation, violating labor laws, and termination.

    This seems like a really really bad global supply chain security risk! They want to know how they can go about responsibly disclosing this to the clients without getting found out or sued into oblivion.
