I just got the cardboard version of the #VirtualBoy headset for my #NintendoSwitch and immediately tried it with Zelda BotW and Super Mario Odyssey - both work as well as with the Labo set.

But that made me wonder if the graphics and performance for both games in #VR is any better on #NintendoSwitch2 - did anyone test it out yet?

My eldest has started (and nearly completed) #SuperMarioOdyssey on her own.

She's never shown much interest in Mario, but she's totally enraptured by this game and I'm here for it.

I originally played the game before she was born, but it's really nice to see it getting a new play though by someone that gets to experience it for the first time.

Now I just need to get her off it so that she can go to bed.

Super Mario Odyssey has the worst 2P joycon mechanic. My kid and I could not even be bothered to carry on looking for moons after the first boss. 1P mode is however, excellent. #SuperMarioOdyssey

Both make me wish we had less lava themed Bowser’s Castle areas though! The music and atmosphere is always amazing when they step away from that archetype.

Nintendo will never do it, but one thing they could really do to build on the popularity of the games would just be to embrace fan projects and legitimise the better ones.

Make a deal to see the Galaxy Story mod as official #SuperMarioOdyssey DLC. Put Mario Eclipse on Switch Online instead of vanilla #SuperMarioSunshine. Add the best fan tracks for #MarioKart into the new game. Etc.

They could literally get DLC and new games for maybe a tenth of the usual dev costs and effort.
