  5. [EN] People say that MCU is not what it used to be. And it’s true that the fourth phase of the universe had its share of weak films: “Black Widow” which was unmemorable, “Doctor Strange” which was terrible story-wise (don’t even get me started on Wanda’s story) and “Thor” which was just plain terrible.
    But the fourth phase also had one of the best MCU films to date — and I’m even not a fan of the franchise. So, there was “Eternals”, an absolutely fantastic epic which is one of my favourite superhero films ever; the second “Black Panther”, which was wonderful; “Shang-Chi” — a splendid kung-fu homage and even “Spider-Man” which finally managed to nail the main character (even though it was a shameless nostalgia trip).
    The fifth phase has begun with “Ant-Man”, which is an okay film, though nothing brilliant (but it has a wonderful villain, and it’s a shame that the actor who played him most likely turned out to be someone very violent).
    Next up is “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” but the film I’m waiting most eagerly for is “The Marvels”. I outright love the first “Captain Marvel” and the second film has got:

    - a lot of Marvel’s Marvel family: Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau whose superhero moniker is still to be determined in the film universe;
    - Nia DaCosta as the director, and she’s a fantastic director;
    - a very interesting trailer, which promises a fun take on the classic switcheroo trope.

    I can’t wait (even though I’m a DC Comics person). How about you?
