( #superGirlCW ): I'm having trouble (good trouble!) articulating how I feel about Supergirl right now, but that was probably one of the best finales for a show I've seen in a long time. Despite a few bumps, and maybe some rushing, I don't think I could have asked for more.

Supergirl is, I think, firmly my favorite Arrowverse show. It made me feel good, it gave me hope, and it wasn't afraid to use its comic-ness as a venue for commentary.

And it never faltered to push home that it is so, so important to be your authentic self. So little does that.

We need that right now. We need that so much right now.

I can wholeheartedly say, this show is worth watching. Even on its own.

I'm going to keep commenting on pointless things like Supergirl because if I don't I'm going to cry. To that end:

( #superGirlCW ): so Lex got exonerated at the beginning of the season because rich white guy, who apparently did the "tell it like it is" bullshit and the jury bought it. Lena gave up the company and Supergirl was in the phantom zone and all that.

This wasn't enough for him naturally so he jumped in his transmatter portal and disappeared until episode 17, which I'm currently watching.

Apparently he went to the future and fell in love with the 5th dimensional baddie that's been going havoc all season, then by way of McGuffin 4 of 7, was brought back to the present and now he's trying to win her again or something? And keep her alive?

Ok?!

Ice is getting a bit thin, there. COVID strikes again!

Still plenty of good as discussed earlier. Also Alex and Kelly have adopted a little girl and Alex is soon to pop the Question! Eeee :blobcat_aww: :blobcat_doggo:

( #superGirlCW ): Wow this episode was amazing. Like a primer on the right way to use white privilege to help others. I'm amazed it somehow got past some network d-bags.

Hell the (admittedly one-note) villain for the episode was a literal blond blue-eyed white woman with sudden 5th dimensional magic powers trying to wipe National City's poor neighborhoods away.

They were even unafraid to literally say "hey supergirl: do better"

Gawd I bet this episode and season probably pissed soooo many chuds off. :blobcat_party: :blobcat_party: :blobcat_party: :blobcat_party:

( #superGirlCW ): show is keeping up with shining a light on real bad stuff. This episode has a two-fer (with a minor third).

Prisoner exploitation in for profit prisons
Shitty foster care homes run by garbage assholes
And a media company too concerned with the bottom line and chasing big things (in this case the super friends) to see and tackle the above.

So nia and brainy went back to midvale in 2009 for reasons (tm), and Cat Grant was in the area. She got wind of weirdness and paid a kid 20 bucks to borrow their... Quad copter drone? Were those even a thing then? Like, weren't even basic consumer models wayyyy out of the price range for a kids toy?

(Ignoring that the camera on it had 60fps video to a built-in receiver on the control remote)

Feels like someone didn't do diligence research. But I could be wrong! Maybe the kid's parents were stupid rich.

( #superGirlCW ): I think I kinda get why they split off the super-cousins. Generally it's hard to do Supergirl or Superman level evil shenanigans without it also being an all hands on deck situation.

The split itself is.... Not that well illustrated though.

But like, the season started with dealing with a worldwide Lex evil plan that would really have had both Supers stepping up to the plate. Clark wasn't there at all.

Kara is now stuck in the phantom zone. Clark's nowhere to be found.

Like I said in a previous post, they wrote themselves into a corner and then COVID walled them in Amontillado style. :blobcat_coffee:

( #superGirlCW ): I know I said this before but I think maybe NOW I've reached unwatched territory. I looked up season 5 and it is where covid finally struck, ending up cutting the season short by a couple of episodes, so seems about right. And this AR\VR angle is unfamiliar.
