20 Jahre LRZ am Forschungszentrum: Im Mai 2006 zogen die Kolleg:innen von #munchen nach Garching. Die schnellste Methode, 1,5 Petabyte an #Daten zu transportieren, war der LKW. Er erreichte eine Transferrate von 7 Terabit/s. Das Rechenzentrum war innovativ: Rechnerräume mit Doppelböden, Computer und für Versorgungstechnik getrennt. 6 Jahre später wieder #baustelle zur Erweiterung und heute stehen Kräne davor, um Platz für die Versorgung der nächsten #Supercomputer zu schaffen.

The long-awaited Jupiter system was officially inaugurated on Friday at the Jülich Supercomputing Center near Köln (Cologne) in #Germany, and has surpassed the exascale threshold of one quintillion (10¹⁸) operations per second.
