First in a series of convertibles in my life. My very first new car was a 1971 Super Beetle convertible. It was the first year of the Super Beetle, and the only model year when it had a flat windshield.
It was $2500. I remember parking it to walk to my very first day of classes at the University of Oklahoma. KOFM, 104.1 in Oklahoma City, was playing Rod Stewart's "Maggie May" as I got out of the car.
