Choices, choices... What commedia dell'arte shall we bring to Pennsic 53 this July and August?
Last year as we explored the fantastical commedia dell'arte pastorale we wrote a parody of Super Mario Bros. In 2025 we held our first dramatic reading - but perhaps Pennsic 2026 is game time for a fully staged production of "The Mushrooms of Arcadia"?

The 1993 #SuperMarioBros movie sure was something. Not great in some ways that were mostly fixable, and reasonably adept in plenty of other ways. A fascinating mess if you’re interested in filmmaking, and some approximation of entertaining even if you’re not. IMHO!

I forgot to say I went with friends to see THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MOVIE at the cinema on Saturday and it was a hoot! super fun, electrifying and magical! my main 2 things tho, without spoilers:
- the visual quality was otherworldly beautiful, some scenes were jaw-dropping in that sense;
- I want a Peach + Rosalina game RIGHT NOW, but with their movie character incarnations (both are badasses and superskilled), not their meek videogame personas.
it's a film worthy of being seen on a huge screen, peeps!

It is possible to jump to the end screen in NES Super Mario Bros. using arbitrary code execution (ACE) and without using another game to set up the RAM. However: beating the game with ACE is (a little) slower than without it, and the glitch only works in the Famicom Disk System version.
