    It's mostly forgotten now, but for a brief period during the mid-sixties, my old hometown Hämeenlinna was known as "the Liverpool of Finland". The most popular and also most original musical artist to come out of the town was Irwin Goodman, but there were quite a few others as well.

    One of these acts was a beat group called Eddy & the Lightnings. The flip side of their second single was a version of a Clint Ballard Jr. composition called "You're No Good", with Finnish-language lyrics by Matti Sortila and Orvokki Itä (which was a pseudonym for the profilic old-school songwriter Reino Helismaa).

    The video clip is great fun, as it was filmed on location in Hämeenlinna, apparently during the winter of 1964/65, as there is snow on the ground and the group members seem to be freezing.

    The highlights include a ride on an escalator, which may have been the first in town, and playing on the wing of Hanssin Jukka, an old DC-2 airplane, which was located next to the bus station and used as cafeteria at the time.
