Cavorting … this juvenile Reddish Egret danced, leapt in the air, and dashed about, frequently with its wings raised. Rare in the state where we were vacationing, let alone where we live a couple of states to the north, this entertaining lifer is one the best birds I’ve had the joy of seeing.

A second shot of this little bird, that just would not keep still. Unlike the cardinal at Diamond Head, or even the one here at Sunset Beach bathing, these finches would not stop moving making it much harder to get good shots of them.
