  1. I just realized: We are all full of shit.
    (Unless you stop eating/digesting)

  2. #SundayThoughts had a moment of incompetence yesterday. Local church congregation hosted an end-of-summer BBQ. I volunteered to help, but only for setting up tables and whatnot. Right when I hoped to get in the food line, someone said, "Hey, could you man the small grill for a few burgers?" 😭 (I haven't grilled since I was kid, when I had a parent over my shoulder)

  4. #SundayThoughts reading Kai's blogpost last week about not finishing an artwork for a month, but being okay with it, got me thinking.

I also didn't post any tutorials or livestreams in July. Despite a host of other things going on, I felt a little guilty sometimes. "Oh no, the YouTube algorithm will make me suffer." 🧵 1/3

  7. I love how God prepared a lake of fire for the angels, you know the ones who saw the Throne, walked in the divine presence, and decided to nope out on Him and the whole thing.

    But you, puny human?

You go to a silent place *that gets thrown into the same lake of fire* because you were born into ignorance, got showed a thousand different religions that were all as plausible-sounding as each other, and then failed to guess which one was true.

That's a God of Cruelty, not love.

  10. #SundayThoughts recently, a 3D artist I know (half-)joked that they see why people have babies: as an excuse to not get anything done. It came off cynical to me, but it made me think about fatherhood.

Despite the whirlwind that is parenting, when it takes me away from art or coding or whatever, I haven't found anything I've done in my life so far to be more fulfilling. Being a present father is no easy or short-term job, and I commend all those that are, including all my role models. 1/2

  12. Spent longer gettign the FOSS version complete. Would have been FINE for 3 major versions as it was but it wasn't how I wanted.
NOW it's tight, super fast and light weight.
When Dashboards is done I can then flip to the commercial additions (realtime updates, per endpoint realtime config etc)...idea is for launch the FOSS engine is complete and I have AT LEAST 3 'packs' for specific Magento, Wordpress and ASP.NET (generally) which have integrations allowing management of specific site data an dendpoints (and analytics).
So you just fire up stylobot and it'll remove malicious bots instantly and give a rich view (reports etc) of YOUR site data.
£5/month each. To get it going (and let me start tuning on real data - optional, you can enable sending anonymous fingerpritns to improve the system).

I'm distracting myself from my pending zero income period 🤓

  14. Morning Thoughts: I have never used cloud backups as it always felt weird to have things not in physical form. Maybe because I grew up using external drives to back up my computer before the days of the Internet.

But I do kinda understand the appeal of putting everything somewhere and having it even sort for you, use its AI to catagorise, and more. I have a week of photos I need to get from my phone, camera, and friends share drives of various kinda they took of me, and get them downloaded to my computer, sorted into appropriate files, delete the blurry ones, edit the fancy ones (i dont actually do much post processing, I try for Straight Out of Camera, but it still takes time). I also keep a journal so things need written and printed too. It feels like a daunting task.

But at the end of the day, my files are my own. I am not beholden to anyone. No company is scanning my face who has a name to go with it, constantly. I have beautiful scrapbooks full of stories that if even computers were to die tomorrow, I have lasting memories which are fun to look back on.

Nothing is lost to the mess of random data, sorted by an unfeeling unthinking algorithm, owned by a company who would love to sell my soul to the highest bidder.

My thoughts, my memories, remain mine.

The joy of that is priceless.

  15. Using an AI is like teaching someone to drive a car. They're overconfident in their abilities, make a lot of mistakes, ignore instructions, and at the end of the ride you're nauseous and sick. #SundayThoughts

  18. Be where you are.

There is something here for you.

We often move through moments quickly, thinking about what’s next, what’s ahead, what’s missing.

But sometimes what we need isn’t somewhere else.

It’s right here. It's right in front of you.

    Waiting to be noticed.

  21. A society isn’t just markets and rules.

It’s agreement to carry part of the load for one another.

We inherit thousands of years of collective effort.

What do we owe in return?

What is the real tithe — and who is it for?

  23. Start the week by naming what matters. Then protect it like it matters.

This week, do fewer things more faithfully.

Faithfulness is not found in busy schedules.

It is found in choosing what matters and showing up with intention.

Let Sunday shape the week ahead.

  25. This week, start with thanks, and let the rest of your plans flow from there.

A little gratitude at the beginning has a way of shaping everything that follows.

    Do you agree?

  28. #SundayThoughts this game/add-on has been a stressful roller coaster. Things breaking, adding needed features, minimizing worries and risks around other add-ons breaking it.

I finally got time yesterday to really try it on my own. Genuinely didn't expect the fun I had with it. It feels small, but nice. Made me remember why I want to share it in the first place.

I think every artist has a phase of hating a project. That's normal. And sometimes it's still worth finishing anyway.

  30. #SundayThoughts watching the LDS conference today. With the past week including the death of President Nelson + a shooting and firebombing in a Michigan church, there's a heaviness felt on everyone there.

One speaker reiterated a subject Nelson spoke on in a news article just days before his death: being a peacemaker. I've made a point on social media to avoid building further contention or cynicism, in the hopes others do the same. But I worry I do it to the point of saying little at all. 1/3🧵

When we don’t realize how much, and how often, they are working their brains, we can misunderstand some of their cries for help.
