It was particularly interesting to listen to the recent episode of #SundayMiscellany that contained a piece from the 1st episode, back in 1968, and other pieces from the 60s and 70s. The later ones were probably a year or two before I started to listen to the show.
I usually listen to it as a podcast these days, which means that I don't get the same musical interludes as the "live" broadcast.

When he was 4 (in 1749) Henry Edgeworth's father gave up his living (he was a rector) because he had converted to Catholicism. The family moved to France. While training as a priest Henry became friends with Francis Moylan, later Catholic Bishop of Cork.

Great piece on Irish soldier Myles Keogh on #sundaymiscellany this morning.
Fighting in the armies of the Papal States, before joining and rising through the ranks of the Union army during the American civil war, his romantic entanglement with General Custer’s wife, and his final battle at infamous Battle of Little Bighorn.
