  1. @youronlyone I first saw her in #kDrama #SummerStrike and then seeing er play a COIMPLETELY different character in #TwinklingWatermelon blew me away. She was the only reason I endured that underwhelming overblown mess to the tedious end. #I'll be watching #LoveUntangled today

  2. CW: Summer Strike Ep 11

    Well, that's certainly a twist I didn't really saw coming. :mtfront_yibo_roll:

  3. CW: Summer Strike Ep 7-11

Been offline watching this so no spammy comments though there have been many moments to comment on. :blobcatgiggle:

Really glad I got over the personally angst triggering ep 4. It's been a really great show. I don't even mind the somewhat forced murder mystery. 😅

  12. @ronsboy67 @joakimfors @hobiis I haven't watched My Liberation Notes. So far the heaviest k-drama I watched is probably Youth Of May. And it starts as a light #kdrama!

I found #SummerStrike quite heavy when Im Siwan resumes his career as a mathematician towards the end.

  13. @ronsboy67 @joakimfors @hobiis Summer Strike is heavy when it comes to work place harassment, psychological violence and abuse. Both leads had their scary past.
Plus there's an unresolved murder in the plot.

  14. CW: Little Women Ep …4, basically no spoilers

OMG, there's a reason I can barely handle one episode now and then… seems to be mostly then. Really good show but the emotional pressure is, for me, constantly through the roof. Still… so, so good.

#SummerStrike is in the same category…

  15. @ronsboy67 the young couple kisses, whereas the main couple and the third one don't, if I remember correctly.

#BusinessProposal is one of those shows that I get halfway through and realize it's not for me but I still need the closure of completing it. It was high on the lists of favourite dramas for many people but I need more than romance to hold my interest.
In #SummerStrike, I liked Bom's family a lot, as well as the additional stories of community members. Also, the scenery was super interesting, as most of the rural shows are for me.

  17. @EllenInEdmonton ahahha I dropped #BusinessProposal and I moderately liked #SummerStrike just because I want to see mature relationships, not grown-ups holding hands like kids 😄

I didn't watch the other ones you mention

Haha, I like #LoveNextDoor as well as #RomanceInTheHouse for #CurrentlyAiring
For binging, I finished #SummerStrike and am currently finishing up #BusinessProposal.

They're okay from time to time but I really don't enjoy a straight romance that much. And the second one is at least twice as long as necessary. First show where I'm deliberately doing other things while it's on the screen. It's not terrible but it's far from riveting!

100% agree. I wasn't sure while watching eps 1, but after that it was just beautiful - even the unexpected events, while quite surprising, didn't feel out of place.

    Summer Strike
    (2022 - Viki, 12 0:50 eps)

When tragedies occur, the FL goes on strike from life. She moves to a small seaside village to take a break. There, she meets new people who help her slowly recover & trust herself.

After the 1st eps setup, the drama slides into a beautifully paced slice-of-life. Deceptively calm & simple on the surface, underneath, the characters are dealing with grief, the moral questions of what is right vs. what is good, & responsibility. Toward the end, some shocking events provide wonderful growth in a way that fits well with the story.

Sweet chemistry - not much skinship, but still endearing. The womance is fabulous. The 2nd couple provides cuteness while they deal with their problems, which wonderfully echo the themes. The acting & story were marvelous & good OST.

    I've been watching #
    MissNightAndDay
with a friend so won't finish for a while but I agree that it's not the strongest drama. It's clearly a lot lower budget than several of the recent releases. Still, it's pleasant and entertaining. #MySweetMobster recently completed and is much stronger with some similar themes.
I'll try to remember #SummerStrike when I complete the very long #EmpressKi.

  22. @hanktank61 I watched #SummerStrike and I did enjoy it, though it's not not one of my favourite #kdrama
It is one of a kind though, with the atypical beach village setting and the social issues it highlights.
Im Siwan is a great actor! I think Misaeng makes him shine even brighter than Summer Strike. I can't wait to see him in Squid Game 2 too
