The Louise Michel, along with other NGOs, joined the trial as civil parties which will now go to court after the judge decided yesterday, in the last preliminary hearing, to officially move to trial.
Six officers, four from the Guardia di Finanza and two from the Coast Guard, will stand accused of negligent shipwreck and multiple manslaughter.
It’s a crucial step toward uncovering the truth about one of the worst state sanctioned tragedies in recent Italian history.
Time lost during rescues is never neutral.

It's not summer without a jam making session.
Farm had mis-shaped strawberries on sale for 2€/kg, so I got 4kg, sugar and pectine and that's 19 jars of low sugar jam for the pantry.
With thanks to @jan for helping chopping the berries and handling the sterilising of jars.

6 Monate nach dem Massaker, als die #SummerLove hier zerschellte.
59 rote Kerzen für Erwachsene und 35 weiße für die Kinder - die bestätigten Opfer.Auch Vincenzo Luciano ist da, Fischer aus Steccato, der als erster eingriff, aber nur noch Leichen aus dem Meer ziehen konnte.
Neben jeder Kerze wird der Name eines Opfers verlesen. Es waren Menschen, nicht Zahlen, die hier ihres Lebens beraubt wurden.
