A year ago, I started playing the Chinese xiao (a bamboo flute) because I’d read about flute meditation (Suizen) and felt I simply had to give it a go.
The Japanese shakuhachi, which is now known as the traditional instrument for Suizen, traces its origins back to earlier forms of the Chinese xiao (I read that on Wikipedia ?).
I let the notes flow intuitively. This always leaves me with a deep, calm and peaceful feeling. Every single evening!
