The nation’s Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, 988, shuttered the specialized services for LGBTQ+ youth this week. The move came a day after the Lifeline marked three years since its launch. During this period, it has fielded more than 16 million calls, texts and chats. Nearly 10% of those contacts have been from gay and transgender young people, according to government data.

Reminder to LGBTQ #Allies who want to #volunteer that groups like the #TrevorProject and #SuicideHotline were overwhelmed during previous administrations, along with other #charity groups like your local #FoodBank as what became the 2019 economic crisis set in. Be sure to support them if you can. -

Just wanted to remind everyone that, in 2016, when Trump declared victory, the #SuicideHotline was completely overwhelmed with mostly #queer, mostly #teen Americans who had lost hope in their future and were considering #suicide.
If you are someone who is not personally emotionally affected by this election, please look into #volunteering in the next 24 hours.
Donald Trump will declare victory before the votes are counted tomorrow night, and this will result in a wave of panic, during which they will likely be overwhelmed once again.

Super #emotional tonight. Not sure why.
Lady called in and needed transferred to the #SuicideHotline. The phone systems weren't working properly and it was upsetting me as much as it was her. Ended up in tears and had to take a slight break from the phones.
Then I am watching #AmbulanceAustralia and a baby has a seizure and stops breathing.
More tears.
Good grief. Good thing my shift is almost over.
