SoundSticks 5 to wciąż ten sam przezroczysty design, który znamy od lat, ale tym razem producent sporo popracował w kwestii funkcjonalności. Dzięki złączu HDMI ARC zestaw 2.1 w końcu bezproblemowo dogada się z telewizorem. Piąta generacja głośników trafia na rynek, celując nie tylko w biurka komputerowe, ale i salony.

Najważniejszą zmianą użytkową w modelu SoundSticks 5 jest dodanie portu HDMI ARC. Do tej pory te głośniki były świetne do komputera, ale podłączanie ich do TV bywało kłopotliwe.

Teraz, dzięki ARC, głośniki włączą się razem z telewizorem, a głośnością będziemy sterować pilotem od TV. To sprawia, że zestaw staje się realną (i ładniejszą) alternatywą dla tanich soundbarów.

Specyfikacja: 190 watów i Bluetooth 5.4

Wewnątrz przezroczystych obudów zaszły zmiany techniczne. Całkowita moc zestawu to teraz 190 W RMS. Konstrukcja opiera się na:

• Subwooferze: jeden głośnik 5,25 cala skierowany w dół (3,7 kg wagi).
• Satelitach: łącznie 6 przetworników średniotonowych (40 mm) i 2 głośniki wysokotonowe (25 mm) z jedwabną kopułką.

Zestaw gra w paśmie 40 Hz – 20 kHz. Łączność bezprzewodową obsługuje najnowszy Bluetooth 5.4 , wspierany przez technologię Auracast. Pozwala to na sparowanie ze sobą wielu głośników Harman Kardon i zsynchronizowanie odtwarzania w kilku pomieszczeniach.

Światełka i aplikacja

Producent nie zrezygnował z efektów wizualnych. Przezroczysta kopułka subwoofera i satelity są podświetlane, a animacje świetlne mają synchronizować się z muzyką.

Sterowanie odbywa się dotykowo (panel na prawej satelicie) lub przez nową aplikację Harman Kardon One, która pozwala też na zabawę korektorem graficznym (EQ).

I found a page on the SVS site with recommended subwoofer settings for a wide range of speakers and, even though I had already run Dirac and my system was sounding good, changing the crossover from 120Hz to 100Hz is noticeably better.

Some minor deficiencies I'd noticed, particularly in my right rear speaker, have resolved.

The original crossover came from some generic rather than product specific pairing guide.

Three Woofers.

Stellaluna, Moose and an ancient subwoofer.

Apparently the walk today was enough to wipe out the two dogs.

The sub was a woodworking project way back in college days. Oak top and bottom, mahogany body. It was upgraded a couple decades ago to a “newer” driver, flared port and a plate amp. The driver was from a company called Stryke Audio, and sold via the email mailing list (remember those?) called the Basslist. I think the designer went on to work for Klipsch. The plate amp is the Apex Sr., with about 500 watts of power. Still hits hard doing home theater duty.
