I have an inexplicable obsession with Echiums, even though they're often borderline in my northern garden. My height record is 12ft! They'll put up with up to -7C in my garden (it's well drained) but not for long. They're triennial but self-seed everywhere after dying. Lots more here on this Canary Islands native... and bees love them. https://www.mandycanudigit.com/2017/03/03/growing-echiums-from-seed/
