  3. 🥱 Oh no, the European digital theater might have gone "closed source," and apparently, Elena became an "expert" without trying. Is this a tech opera or just another snooze fest with a subscription button? 🎭🔐

  4. 🚗 Welcome to the dystopian future where your car is now your nosy backseat driver, complete with ads you didn't ask for. 🤦‍♂️ Because what every driver needs is a subscription plan for their steering wheel and a dashboard that moonlights as a billboard. 📺💸

  5. So, apparently, the "Cassandra of The Machine" thinks we're all doomed because our tech debates are about as productive as watching paint dry. 🤦‍♂️ Who knew endless pontification could be turned into a subscription model? 💸📚 Such innovation!

  6. Breaking: CNN is launching 'CNN All Access' for $7 a month. Because your existing mountain of subscriptions clearly had a void only *this* could fill. Is this the future, or are we hitting peak streaming service saturation? Discuss.

  7. Well, look who decided to monetize nostalgia! Snapchat is rolling out storage fees for your 'Memories' if you go over their new limit. Guess those fleeting moments weren't so free after all.

Better start exporting those digital relics, or prepare to open your wallet. Are we really going to pay a premium for our own data now?

  8. Meta launches £2.99 subscription for ad-free Facebook and Instagram in UK: Meta introduces subscription model at £2.99 monthly following ICO guidance on consent or pay frameworks, setting UK apart from stricter EU regulations. ppc.land/meta-launches-2-99-su #Meta #Facebook #Instagram #SubscriptionModel #AdFree

  9. Meta's hitting the UK with ad-free subscriptions for Facebook & Instagram! £3/month on web, £4 on mobile (blame those app store fees). It's their 'response' to regulatory 'consent or pay' guidance. So, your choice is clear: pay up or keep swimming in ads.

How do you feel about this kind of 'choice' for online services?

  10. The era of subscriptions for everything?

Music subscription (Apple, Spotify etc). Subscription to social networks (Meta, X). Subscription to Messenger (Telegram Premium, Viber Plus etc). Sneaker subscription (On.com). Subscription for car seat heaters. What's next?

I found it hard to accept that the whole world was immersed in a subscription form of payment. You cannot own anything anymore; once your bank card runs out of money, you are cut off from the whole world.

You are immersed in a plethora of advertising. You can no longer use your programs; you are cut off from everything.

When did we take the wrong turn? When did a smartphone wallpaper app decide to become “big business” and just demand $10 a week? Why has this become the norm? 🥲

Fage ich mich, sind das #Irrwitz und #Verzweiflung im Doppelpack?

  12. 🚗💸 Manhattan congestion pricing is TOTALLY "predictable" — like predicting that New York City might have a traffic problem. The article spends more time trying to sell subscriptions than explaining why you're paying more to sit in a traffic jam. 🙄✨

  13. 🎉 Big news, everyone! Kagi Assistant is now available to ALL (*huge gasp*) users who are totally okay with paying $15/month for a "beautiful" interface and the privilege of unmanipulated internet searches. 🤔 Because, clearly, nothing screams "humanize the web" like yet another subscription model. 🚀💸

  14. Ah, the utopian dream of "buy once, use forever" software—a relic from a bygone era when developers weren't fueled by monthly subscriptions and avocado toast. 🥑💸 Enjoy this quaint list, because much like your last avocado, it's past its expiration date. 😂📅
