I love the Opus audio codec. Nearly 10 hours of stereo audio of a music fest I streamed on Saturday to Icecast, and the dumpfiles accumulate less than 300MB total. My crappy 4G data connection hardly flinched and I think it all sounds damn good.

I was able to restore one band's audio stream from my backup recorder when I had to recharge my phone (which what was livestreaming to Subjam) yesterday. I felt really bad, until the lead singer said at one point during her set, "This next song goes out to my Dad who's in San Diego and listening to the livestream".. My heart sank! I felt fucking horrible ☹️ I looked the band up and let them know the audio was available now, at least 🔊

Currently fixing what broadcast errors happened yesterday while broadcasting the "System Crash" music festival in Oak Harbor, Washington on SJ.
Mostly cleaning up some database records and in one case replacing the OPUS audio file with one I created from my backup Tascam recorder.
Your support could help my awesome developers fix these issues in the app that we're currently working around!

I just wrote a little bash script to help automate live VM migrations between hypervisors (using libvirt/kvm/qemu style virtualization).
I really miss being able to focus on this kind of progress with my infra. Chasing money gets tiring... I just want to build cool things that people will use.

I want to do for the music world what open-source has done for the technology world.
Music contracts with industry giants work like proprietary software, they put your work behind lock & key and charge up the @$$ for it.
Creative Commons is like the Open-Source of art and other media, it turns the status-quo on its head and says, "We'll give it all away because there's better ways to fund, support and collab on your work than this."

Currently experiencing an attempted DDoS attack on subj.am servers, with a TLS/SSL resource exhaustion flavor.
It's fun to watch them get banned, one-by-one.
