  1. I was an 80’s/90’s kid, so the Star Trek that was actually airing was TNG, DS9, and VOY. That said, my first memories of Star Trek are of TOS.

I remembering seeing an episode at a very young age where a plant attacks them. It was Christmastime, we were at my Grandparents’ house, and my cousins and I played Zombies Ate My Neighbors on NES.

But the most formative Star Trek experience is actually Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country! I know that one doesn’t get as much love as II-IV, but it was foundational for me. Seeing that pink Klingon blood floating in zero G… now THAT was a special effect.

  5. I just realized that “Judgement” from #ent is basically a condensed version of #stvi.

A captain is accused of a crime, goes on trial, gets sentenced to Rura Penthe, and captain gets rescued. The specific details aren’t the same but the broad strokes are.

  6. Furthermore, the Klingons revelaed today in the #StrangeNewWorlds trailer seem to be an extension of that design. If anything they more closely resemble the movie aesthetic of the 80s and 90s, particularly that of #STVI. Another step towards the #TNG design that became commonplace later on.
