Have you seen those T. Rowe Price ads where they list all these nice, intangible things, and show all sorts of homey images, and a voiceover that says "you can't buy these things... but you can invest in them!"
What, exactly, do they think an "investment" is?
I give you money... to BUY access to a portion of an asset or what you call an "investment product."
