Sad but grateful today. Told CFI that I'd be stopping flight training. Just under 100 hours total time, 33 hours solo, just needed school stage check + FAA checkride. I'm grateful that I fulfilled a childhood dream of FLYING, but this is enough. I'm going to miss the sky. #studentpilot #aviation

Drove to a local airfield which has a well-regarded breakfast / lunch restaurant. The French toast was out of this world. Have done touch-and-goes there and used it for a XC checkpoint, but never “been” there. Someday I hope to spend $400 to fly there to get the same food. #studentpilot

Solo long cross-country finally done! Air was a bit rough below 3000 feet especially for this #studentpilot, but the sky was clear enough to see checkpoints from WAY far away. Just a beautiful but bumpy day. As always, I could have flown better, but it's done!

Had to cancel student solo long XC for weather at one airport (the weather hates me) so went to practice area instead. But for the first time, my 360° steep turns ran into my own wake (3 out of 4 times)! (Landings were slightly less terrible, too.) Small victories for a #studentpilot.

Good news — figured out how to import a Google Earth map layer outlining the practice area into ForeFlight. Bad news — very clear that my last flight wandered a bit out of bounds. Did not violate any airspace, but it’s really inconvenient that air doesn’t have markings. #studentpilot
