  1. Shoutout to all the people who like to argue with me that we're not living in a fascist police state already:

Short story here is 13 police officers raid the homes of pro-Palestinian student protesters from a group the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) banned from campus, at 6AM. Pointed guns at people's heads, refused to show a warrant, refused to identify the officers involved.

Folks, these are students, not a fucking Al Qaeda cell. This is an Ivy League school; theoretically the students at Penn are the FUTURE LEADERS of American society. We are ALREADY through the looking glass; this shit is not *coming* it's already here.

PS - when you folks get mad at me for trying to raise awareness, boost solidarity, and pitch for organizing while refusing to write you a step-by-step pamphlet for "how to revolution" you do realize that I KNOW this is the police state we live in and that's part of why right? Cause sometimes I don't think you understand what fucking time it really is.

  5. I'm really curious about @RadicalAnthro tonight focusing on the #StudentMovements for #Palestine. I wonder if there will be a discussion on what it means to fight the empire in the heart of the empire.

  10. The Society for Cultural Anthropology has published a new online issue dedicated to the student movement for Palestine, focusing on the camp protest.
    Worth of note:

"Three co-editors put this special issue together. Two remain anonymous due to the unevenly distributed repression that places them at greater risk."

  15. From the #AntiWar rallies of the #Vietnam era to the #CivilRights sit-ins, and now to the contemporary marches for #Palestinian rights, it’s clear that #students have been — and continue to be — powerful #catalysts for major shifts in society.

#StudentActivism is often chaotic, but always driven by passion, and essential. Looking back at the #history of #StudentMovements, it’s evident that when students raise their voices, they lay the foundation for future #change.
