Oof. My brain is mush after playing six hours of #windband music today, but at least my hearing is in reasonable stead. My IEM rig worked well and hearing myself better (while not overplaying) made a massive difference. #bassist #doublebass #stringbass #bassplayer

The 3DMEs are nice because I can dial in how much (or little) ambient sound I hear, so I can get a little more of the top end of my arco playing in Band situations, while still getting good fundamental via the DI. Tremendous fun yesterday at work. My first time back in the saddle playing big band with my #doublebass tuned in fifths, and it worked incredibly well. Also, lots of fun sight reading some #windband rep and feeling very confident. These new Spiros need some breaking in still for arco (quite scratchy) but they are killing it for pizz work. #stringbass #militaryband #rcn
