Greene King are proposing to remove a large tree from suburban Sheffield. This may or may not be the case but appears to be so, judging by comments on Facebook. I am going to contact directly to ask. #sheffieldstreettrees #sheffield #streettrees #woodseats

Bright pink crabapples. This tree was so odd: the crabapples were growing on short spurs all over the branches, so that it looked like a bright pink knobby mossy hedgehog tree. I couldn't get a good shot at it, but maybe I'll try again.

City street trees are in bloom, (dog walk special). These shrubs and trees are popular ornamentals in Seattle. The top photo is Japanese pieris, related to heathers. Then you have the coral pop of flowering quince. Next is a pale pink flowering cherry, one of hundreds lining Seattle streets. And then you have Harry Lauder's Walking Stick, a hazelnut with twisty branches used as a garden highlight.

Do your urban streets have enough street trees? Only if your design choices prioritize them! This downtown #Vancouver street has 4 rows of trees on just 1 side! Yard trees, 2 sidewalk trees, then bike-lane buffer trees.
Don’t tell me you have to choose between density OR green! But you DO have to stop making cars the top priority in everything, and do underground street design differently.
