    These made me think of the story in BLAG 06 (bl.ag/06) about Nelson Stefanelli and his DIY street signs in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil.

    The city had none before, so he started doing them in retirement, completely self-taught and with his own technique for templating the lettering efficiently.

    Eventually, people were paying him to put them up on their streets and he has now done more than 15,000 signs.
