We had a great time at #collectacon and I even managed to get two streetpasses on my DS! Pretty sure whoever Dan and Matt are that they know each other, but it was cool to get a #streetpass 15 years later. 🤣

Thursdays at #PAXEast are always the slowest day, so I received "only" 31 #StreetPass hits on my #3DS.

I'm going to be at #PAXEast this coming Thursday (26 March)! I'm not much for the enormous booths and hour-long lines, but I love all the smaller developer tables, the panels and presentations, and the general spectacle of it all.

Also all the #3DS #StreetPass hits.

If anyone else is attending and wants to say hi in person, let me know.

Hier j'ai installé l'extension StreetPass sur Vivaldi parce que je trouve le concept vraiment cool. C'est inspiré du StreetPass de la 3DS qui permettait de rencontrer les Mii des gens qu'on croisait dans la vraie vie genre dans le bus ou dans un bar avec une détection de proximité.

Et là elle le fait avec les comptes Fediverse des gens qui ont validé leur site avec la balise de vérification de profil.

Et donc au fil de ma navigation, des fois je vais voir une petit popup s'afficher dans un coin de la page et indiquer le compte fediverse de la personne qui a créé la page en question.

Avis aux gens qui bloguent : Pensez à utiliser cette balise sur votre site _^

Ich feier derzeit das Browser-AddOn #StreetPass. Beim Surfen hält es Ausschau nach verifizierten #Mastodon-Profilen und sammelt die in einer Liste. So lassen sich noch ein paar neue Accounts zum Folgen finden. Danke an @tvler

Now working on an #android app that would allow people close to each other to exchange messages as they are close to each other using peer to peer communication. A bit like #streetpass for those who owned a 3ds!

Basically, the final goal would be : You enable the app, then if your device detects other devices with the app also enabled, your profiles get exchanged and you can chat with each other. So you can meet new people from the ones that you may pass by every day!

There is no account system and not even the need for an internet connection or a server since it only focuses on local communication

Of course safety is important so I'm also implementing blocking based on the unique installation ID of the app so bad actors can get blocked!

I don't think that concept exists yet so I'm excited to work on that!

@GamesMissed Yeah. I do think Play Coins were a cool idea. I have fond memories of spending them in some games but overall I can't say they are something that I really miss.

#StreetPass on the other had always felt like Christmas to me. It was always exciting to see who I had met, where they were from and what games they had been playing.
