Just cancelled our Streamyard subscription and deleted our account.
The asshats automatically switched us to a plan that was 2× the price (from ~$44 to ~$88) with a single email’s notice and no authorisation on our part and when there was a new plan that almost exactly matched our current one with almost exactly the same features.
By the time I clocked on, they’d already charged us for several months so I wrote to them explaining that what they did was wrong and asking them to refund us the difference in the plan costs and place us on the plan that was almost the carbon copy of the one we were originally on.
They refused. And admitted no wrongdoing.
Finally, they offered a one month refund.
So I accepted. And now that it’s safely in our account, I just cancelled our subscription and deleted the account. I have a very fucking short fuse for asshole unethical American startups thinking they’re so bloody smart for fucking you over.
Anyway, beware of Streamyard. Not sure if they’ll pull the same shit again but I’m sure they’ll pull some other shit some other time.

think it's great to stream to Instagram live, but it might support your cause if you would also stream to non-bigtech platforms. I and many others here in the fediverse would be happy to help set this up. It is possible.
As an example, for earlier livestreams I used #StreamYard to stream to #YouTube, #PeerTube ( @peertube ) , #Instagram and #LinkedIn all at the same time.

I wasn't paying attention, but it appears that #Streamyard's money problems got serious about 4 months ago. Look at how their video production dropped off. They either had a mass exodus of users, or realized their advice wasn't actually all that helpful.

@nixCraft Started using #Firefox around 2006, because it was so much faster than #Opera. Then I spent two days playing with add-ons to get back all my dear Opera features, like gestures and right-click search. I used #Edge before setting up containers, in order to test not being logged in to services etc. #Chrome I only use for #Streamyard, because it won't work with my headset in Firefox (and for testing my changes to #WikiTree browser extensions so they work for others as well)

Good morning, Mastodon!! Question for any #Blind #ContentCreators out there who use #Streamlabs for #Mac specifically, but I suppose it applies to any platform mac or windows. Can I get #Streamlabs to automatically read incoming chats? I don't plan on using it all the time, because i use #Streamyard for multistreaming and am happy with that generally, but for my #Twitch streams exclusively, which I will have one day from time to time, I want something that's easier to keep up with/engage with chat.
