In the Vatican, the days after the election of a pope are known as the "days of surprise" as the outline of a new papacy begins to take shape. By the time Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio stepped onto the balcony of St Peters on 13 March, 2013, Rome had already undergone plenty of "days of surprise".

Took a long (for me) #Wander yesterday, along the #TaffEly #RidgewayWalk. Started off at #MynyddYGaer and followed the trail past the extensive #WindFarms, the ruins of the 12th Century #StPeters #Church and the locally famous #CariadRocks, before dropping down into #Llantrisant #Forest and finishing up in #Llanharan. Some great views, despite the mostly grey skies.

Started off at #MynyddYGaer and followed the trail past the extensive #WindFarms, the ruins of the 12th Century #StPeters #Church and the locally famous #CariadRocks, before dropping down into #Llantrisant #Forest and finishing up in #Llanharan. Some great views, despite the mostly grey skies.

Visited #Northampton yesterday - took my 86 year old Mum to some churches she’d longed to see that are often closed or hard to get to. Surprise bonus #CastleHillURC where #Doddridge was a minister and there is a room kept as he would have known it (key mentions in #AlanMoore ‘s book Jerusalem) as well as the gorgeous carvings inside #StPeters .
