Coming home last night I managed a 4 minute platform-to-platform transfer from #Eurostar to #SouthEastern at #StPancras (I might have ran…) which got me home an hour earlier than planned.
Even managed to say a friendly "Hello" to the very bored looking customs people in the way out of Eurostar before legging it up the station.

Ok, so I have a hot take for you. The passenger experience at #Eurostar #StPancras is, at best, mediocre. Above you, out of sight is the amazing train shed, but you can’t see that when you’ve checked in, because you’re kept in the dungeon , waiting for time to board, which is 20 minutes before departure, but we’re implied to arrive 80 mins before departure and as a result, the dungeon is over full, with just two trainloads of pax. Competition can’t come soon enough. 4/n

By a coincidence, yesterday, we were watching the French women’s #Rugby team play in the #WorldCup and today, here we are in #Paris. We decided to come by #Eurostar which means avoiding flying and is a much greener and altogether more pleasant and convenient way to travel. Who says #Britain is an island where you can get on a #train at #StPancras station and within two and a half hours, your at the #GareDuNord right in the middle of Paris?

@jon #Gemini have been in the UK press this week promoting a Stratford-Ebbsfleet-Europe competitor to #Eurostar again. Difficult to see how they can finish/reverse/start at #Stratford without major track works, running empty into #StPancras and back out, or resignalling the Camden Road ramp to enable HS1-only stock on it. Then there's the problem of fitting border posts into Stratford's constrained pre-Brexit station space.

Lovely evening out in our wonderful city of London, a meal at Prezzo in Kings Cross Station and then a meander around all the new civic spaces they've built in the area, and then back home via Brixton, where Brixton continues to be it's most Brixton. :catjam:
