Gerry Mulligan, Concert Days, 1966 on Sunset Records

Although this compilation came out in the mid-sixties, the recordings are all from 1954-1957.

Thanks to the Gerry Mulligan Discography compiled by Antoine Perier, Gérard Dugely, and Kenneth Hallqvist, they would seem to be:

• Storyville Club, Boston, Massachusetts, December 1-6, 1956 (A1, A2, A3, A5, B3)
• Salle Pleyel, Paris, France, June 7th, 1954 (last evening concert) (A4, B2)
• Coastal Studios, New York City, NY. December 4 & 5, 1957 (B1, B5)
• Stockton High School, Stockton, CA, November 12, 1954 (B4)

My copy is a Canadian pressing via Aux 33 Tours in Montreal, QC

Another Body

Another Body follows a college student's search for justice after she discovers deepfake pornography of herself circulating online.

A documentary every young woman should see. Something should be done about it.

I have been watching the extraordinary #Storyville episode, #TheGatekeepers, on #BBCiPlayerWatch

It consists of interviews with several former leaders of #Israel's #ShinBet, in other words intelligence service.

Filmed in 2014, I thought for a moment it might be current, so good was the analysis it provided of how Israel got into this position.

The interviewees all expressed the view that Israeli intransigence is the cause of most of its security troubles.

The drummer and bassist from Double Trouble - Stevie Ray Vaughan’s band - put together a band of their own after his death and their debut in 1993 was really pretty good. This tune out here on deck tonight is but one example. I’m fairly certain SRV would be proud and would absolutely love to add his own “touch” to it.

The first #documentary I’ve watched this year:

A Bunch of Amateurs

“A Storyville documentary that recounts how a bunch of amateur film-makers, with nothing left to lose, tackled one of Hollywood's greatest musicals in order to save their beloved Bradford Film Club.”

It was heartwarming, very touching and also funny. ♥️ Recommended!
