Have you heard about this, fellow USians? A project from #NPR Morning Edition and #StoryCorps
A Time Capsule of American Voices & Stories
Through Connect250, StoryCorps and NPR’s Morning Edition are bringing strangers together for 40-minute video conversations about their lives to mark the 250th anniversary of our nation. These conversations will go to the Library of Congress, to become part of American history.
Together our voices will create a time capsule of who we are at this milestone moment in American history.

One of the many tragedies of NPR losing funding is the affect it may have on StoryCorps. I don't get emotional very often, but a random StoryCorp video and I'm welling up.
Don't watch this if you're not prepared to feel something.

The American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress is partnering with #StoryCorps to tell a more diverse and holistic story of the pandemic as told by the people who lived through it. You’re invited to take part! The Center invites everyone to share their experiences, especially frontline workers, medical professionals, and emergency service workers.
You can use the free StoryCorps Connect online platform to record in the comfort of your own home. All you need is a strong internet connection, access to a laptop or desktop computer with a microphone, and an open heart.

Just saw this on #PBS #WeekendNewsHour. Not only is it a wonderful story; the illustrations/animation are perfect. And yeah, pretty amazing for the '50s.

If there's interest, I've written a longer version of our story on my blog. And he and I interviewed each other and recorded it with #StoryCorps almost 20 years ago. -
So. Here's a thing that happened. Again. 😅
This was condensed from two hours of audio recordings, the first between me and Les and the second between Les and the kids. This version of the audio was released in 2014 originally and the animation was done last year.
