#StormBetty in the UK also brought down a load of almost ripe plums

There is a lot of leaf litter, twigs, and small branches on the ground in Moat Park Dundonald in the aftermath of Storm Betty. I didn’t see any trees down.

Power just came back on in West Dublin after last night's storm. Any longer and we'd have to start thinking about "dealing with the fridge". Thankfully it won't come to that now.
On the other hand, I had been spending a lovely afternoon reading a novel and sipping tea. Now that the power's back I'm going to have to watch Tottenham play Man Utd.
So in some ways the power coming back may ruin my weekend. Such is life for Spurs fans.

I'm sadly old enough that when I first heard that there was a storm Betty my first thought was "oooh Betty" ala Frank Spencer.
Very Mike Yarwood.

It is clear this morning that the inhabitants of Ireland are feeling the effects of #StormBetty far more than us here in South West England:

Compare and contrast the #PowerCut maps of ESB Networks, Northern Ireland Electricity & National Grid:

#StormBetty has made a bit of a mess of my garden but there's no serious damage that I can see.

Woooooah #StormBetty bam-a-lam.

#StormBetty blew loud, bam-a-lam.
Tossed things around, bam-a-lam. -
Fair amount of branches down in the #PhoenixPark but on the limited route I have as able to take no trees (a large jogging event means Chesterfield Avenue to the Chapelizard side isn’t accessible ) TBH I expected more #StormBetty damage

No #Parkrun this morning, and my slow solo run was even slower with so many trees and branches down from #StormBetty. Had to pick my way around in #Drumcondra.

There's lots of debris on the ground, but the Bushy Park Dublin parkrun is still on this morning! Number 254! #StormBetty #ParkRun #BushyParkDublin #Volunteer

Pretty strong wind here overnight, no major damage for us, luckily.
Normally it would have woken me up, but I've taken to wearing Loop Buds at night, great nights sleep, would recommend. (This is not an ad...)

Enough, #StormBetty. Aren’t you meant to be off raining on England by now?
Woken by something flogging in the wind. Ventured out, unwillingly, to tie things down further. Not as wet but still windy. #Sailing -

Electricity is supposed to come back on in 14 hours - poor 📱 and 💻 -
Good night, and good luck.

If you follow @OutOnAShout, it tells you when a RNLI lifeboat launches in UK or Ireland.
They’re busy tonight, spare a thought for the crews out in this weather and send them a few quid if you can. #StormBetty #RNLI -
It’s a bit frisky, this #StormBetty. Gusts strong enough to have woken me, stern line creaking on the cleat, and a random vibration I haven’t sussed yet. But we’re still attached to the pontoon, and it’s far too wet to venture outside to investigate further. #FeckThisForSummer

Another mid summer named storm is approaching South West England:

As well as the rain, note the 51 mph wind gusts forecast for #Okehampton at 10 PM tonight.
