  1. #ClimateDiary This is incredibly sad.. One of the biggest injustices of #ClimateEmergency is how it hurts animals and plants.

“Experts say a series of storms in October, culminating in #StormBabet, had caused the disappearance – and likely death – of these birds. But their disappearance could be a microcosm of what is happening on other islands – and a warning of what happens to seabirds as extreme weather events become more frequent.” #Birds #Storm

  5. Hi all, sorry I have not posted recently. Last Friday was a horrific day and I’ve only just felt like normality is coming back.

While attempting to get the kids from school during #StormBabet we got caught in a flash flood and lost our little car. We were rescued by tractor and the kids thankfully collected by a friend until we could reach them the next day.

The incredible kindness of strangers was the one positive thing I will never forget.

  6. "Entire fields have been submerged in water after #StormBabet swept across the #UK, with crops ruined. #ExtremeWeather events are becoming more likely and frequent due to #climate breakdown, and have caused food shortages and price increases.

Last year, farmers faced turmoil because of the extended drought and #ExtremeHeat, which caused crop losses, water shortages and effects on planting and harvesting."

‘Britain doesn’t have ‘quite as much experience’ of rain coming from the east.’

  11. Late summer & early autumn in the rain.

I hope everyone is safe following #stormbabet - we had some heavy rain in Hertfordshire, but nothing like what seems to have been dropped on parts of the Peak District, Eastern England and Eastern Scotland. ❤️

  15. We live in #Angus, #Scotland near the #DightyBurn on the eastern edge of #Dundee. It’s been very deep and flooded the last few days due to #StormBabet. I was worried about dipper birds my husband sees every week there. Fortunately he saw loads today.
